My Salvation Testimony – Aries Jenesis Balucio

“My life before was like that of an ordinary youth with a lot of curiosity about life. We were poor, so there were times when I would complain about our situation. I sought attention from my friends until I learned to indulge in vices like drinking, smoking, and gambling. I wanted to fit in with my friends, so I did whatever they did. I didn’t know what the true purpose of my life was. I just wanted to finish my studies, get a job to help my parents and siblings. I didn’t know where I would end up if I died. In other words, I was lost in this world.

Until one day, in December 2008, our friends had a gathering at a friend’s hut, and I thought it was just going to be a drinking session, so I joined in. Then Bro Ace came and suggested we have a Bible study instead. Since my friends were attending, I attended too. That’s where I realized I was a sinner and needed a Savior. I learned that God loved me and didn’t want me to perish in hell. I learned that Jesus Christ is the one who can save me. So, in that moment, I decided to repent and put my faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior because I didn’t want to perish in hell. I wanted to follow God’s will.

We continued with the Bible study, but eventually, some of my friends stopped attending. I persisted because I knew in my heart that the Lord was calling me. Then Bro Ace invited me to attend a worship service at church. That’s where I made a public profession of my faith and acceptance of the Lord Jesus. I decided to get baptized on November 2, 2009.

Since I got to know and accept the Lord Jesus, He has been transforming me little by little. He took away my vices and gave my life the right direction. I discovered the true purpose of my life. I gained hope and assurance of salvation. I was even more driven to finish my studies so I could help my parents and siblings and lead them to know the Lord Jesus too.

Now, I’m actively involved in church activities so more people can be reached with the gospel and know the Lord. The Lord is using me as a preacher and Sunday school teacher. I’ve experienced true joy that the world can’t match. I want the Lord to use my life while I wait for His return.

My life verse is Philippians 1:6 KJV Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: .

‘ I believe that since the Lord Jesus started working on my salvation, He will continue to work in my life until His return. I want Him to use my life as an instrument to lead others to know Him too. To God be all the glory.”
